Rachel Visits Seacrest Studios at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt

Rachel Wammack recently visited the Seacrest Studio at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville sharing her music and taking questions from eager patients.

“I can’t thank Mamie Shepherd and the team at Seacrest Studios enough for inviting me in to meet and play for the kids,” Wammack said. “They are the real stars and automatically make the room brighter. No matter what these children are facing, they are fighters who never give up and they inspire love in every heart — including my own. It was a privilege to play for them.”

Seacrest Studios gives children and teens the opportunity to express their creative side through radio, television, and new media. Participants in the studio during Wammack’s visit sang along and asked questions – including wanting to know her strangest food combo: peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches. The Studio broadcasts artist visits to patient rooms via closed-circuit televisions so that all patients can participate in the fun.

Wammack performed “My Boyfriend Doesn’t Speak For Me” from her debut EP and the deeply personal “Something People Say,” which has received rave reviews including Music Row (“This lady continue to impress with every note she sings”) and HITS, which opined, “Like Tammy Wynette, Carole King, Grace Potter, or Adele, Wammack has the ability to take life by the throat and empathetically deliver the emotional truth in people’s crisis points.” Listen HERE.

Wammack will be heading overseas for the Neon Nashville Reeperbahn Festival in Germany on Sept. 18 and again in October as part of CMA’s “Introducing Nashville” series. The European and UK tour introduces foreign audiences to the format’s rising singer/songwriters with stops in Oslo, Stockholm, Berlin, Amsterdam, Glasgow, London, and more.
